Originally from the UK and for the last 10 years loving life in New Zealand. After a few years serving as a Police Officer in the UK, I got to stretch my legs further as a PE Teacher in both the UK and then NZ covering 8 years of good times.

Whilst in New Zealand I completed a Post Grad in Counselling and then a Master in Education at Auckland Uni. For the the last 6 years I have been Head of Guidance at a large Auckland secondary school, and more recently added a small private counselling practice (theboatshedcounselling.com) to the mix. I run parenting courses/inputs including the Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme), as well as Tweens to Teens (The Parenting Place, NZ).

As for what to expect in my posts, well, I’m not quite sure myself yet, but it will certainly be around pastoral care in schools, counselling, parenting and a whole heap in between.

One area in particular that is a particular passion of mine is around adolescent identity and connectedness, and how strengths and challenges can keep our young folk on a good course or -as I see way too often- spiraling down a different path. This I’m sure will make sense along the way.
